Two groupies had arranged little badges on the merchandise table to read WE ♥ FRIENDLY FIRES. They were waiting for the band to come on and were hanging out with the merch guy who had put them on the guest list. “We have to be nice to him now” one of them said to me with piercing blue mischievous eyes. Both of them had seen the Friendly Fires six times before and promised me that I would not be disappointed. And boy was she right. Best gig in a long, long time. Cheers Martijn for getting the tickets.

Okay, I’m not one for post-rock bands, you know, the bands that play 10 minute tracks without vocals. Well I recently heard this band This will destroy you and I’m wanting to play my guitar with endless delay and a violin bow.
