Lend your surfboard to a Moroccan

This is the coolest photo I took on my recent trip to Morocco. A few of us were trying to surf the little waves a Taghazout, some more successful that others (okay I’ll admit it, I was crap). A few of the local kids were curious and asked to have a go. “Sure”. Man, were they excited! At the end of the day they all crowded around the board for a photo, like real surfer type guys. Taghazout is a small fishing village on the west coast. If you have a need for some waves head there in January when its pumping.

Dolly Rogers installation at Streetlab

The Zaishu Amsterdam Project stole the show with our front window installation at the Artlab opening on Friday, 24th April ~ designed in collaboration with our talented friend Weasel.

Jeroen Smeets from Reload Magazine curated the exhibition with over 20 national and international artists exhibiting. Graffiti stencil artist FAKE was also showing work and couldn’t keep his hands off a chair and took a blank Zaishu to spray. We can’t wait to see that one!

Check out the photos on our flickr site and more info about the project can be found on the Zaishu Amsterdam blog. The chairs will be on display and for sale at Streetlab until the end of May.

We’re already getting cosy and just can’t wait to move into our new studio on the Nieuwe Prinsengracht. If you didn’t get a chance to check out our awesome space at NDSM-werf, we will be hosting a ‘One Night Stand’ party in June before we leave. Stay tuned!

We are Bohemian

On 2nd April 2009 we showed our Bohemian colours and paraded through the streets of Amsterdam to relocate the Museum of the Bohemain from Galeria Schaap to Plantagedok. We were dressed by the gorgeous girls at Visjuweel. Check out more fun pics of the parade here.
